Getting Started

How do I know if I or my loved one needs help?
If substance use is causing problems in your life — whether at work, in relationships, with health, or with the law — it may be time to seek help. Signs include inability to cut back despite wanting to, using more than intended, and continuing use despite negative consequences. If you're unsure, call us for a free, confidential assessment.
What happens when I call?
When you call, a real person will answer — not a recording. They'll listen to your situation without judgment, answer your questions, and help you understand your options. There's no pressure and no obligation. Everything is completely confidential.
How quickly can someone get into treatment?
In many cases, we can arrange treatment placement within 24-48 hours. If the situation is urgent, we work to move even faster. Every situation is different, so call us to discuss your specific circumstances.
Is everything confidential?
Absolutely. All communications with Back to Life are completely confidential and protected by federal privacy laws (HIPAA). Your information will never be shared without your explicit consent.

Treatment & Services

What types of addiction do you help with?
We help with all types of substance use disorders, including alcohol addiction, opioid/heroin addiction, cocaine and stimulant addiction, prescription drug misuse, and other substances. We also coordinate care for co-occurring mental health conditions.
What is an intervention?
An intervention is a structured, professionally facilitated conversation where loved ones express their concerns and encourage someone to accept treatment. It's done with love and preparation, not confrontation. Our certified interventionists guide families through this process with high success rates.
How do you match someone with a treatment center?
We consider many factors: the type and severity of addiction, any co-occurring mental health conditions, personal preferences, insurance coverage, location preferences, and clinical needs. We have relationships with hundreds of vetted treatment facilities and find the best fit for each individual.
What is sober escort service?
Sober escort is safe, supervised transport to treatment facilities. Our trained escorts accompany clients during travel to ensure they arrive safely and with dignity. This is often used following an intervention or when there's concern about follow-through.

Insurance & Costs

Does insurance cover treatment?
Many insurance plans cover addiction treatment. We verify insurance benefits at no cost and help you understand your coverage. We work with most major insurance providers.
What if I don't have insurance?
We can discuss various options including self-pay arrangements, financing, scholarships, and facilities that offer sliding scale fees. Cost should never be the only barrier to getting help.
Is there a cost for the initial consultation?
No. Your initial consultation with our team is completely free and confidential. We want you to have the information you need to make an informed decision.

For Families

What's the difference between helping and enabling?
Helping supports someone's recovery; enabling supports their addiction. For example, providing a place to live while someone is in treatment is helping. Giving money that you know will be used for substances is enabling. We help families understand this distinction and set healthy boundaries.
What if my loved one refuses help?
This is common and doesn't mean all hope is lost. A professional intervention can be very effective in breaking through denial. We also help families set boundaries that may motivate change over time. Call us to discuss your specific situation.
How can family members be involved in recovery?
Family involvement significantly improves recovery outcomes. We offer family therapy, education programs, and support groups. We also help families heal from the trauma that addiction causes.

After Treatment

What support is available after treatment?
We provide comprehensive aftercare including continued check-ins, alumni programs, support groups, and access to our team. Recovery doesn't end at discharge — and neither does our support.
What if someone relapses?
Relapse doesn't mean failure. It's often part of the recovery process. If it happens, we're here to help get back on track immediately. Our relapse prevention planning helps minimize this risk.
